Gord Vaadeland; Sturgeon River Ranch Boss
Cowboy, conservationist, naturalist, musician and Mantracker sidekick, Gord has been around. Born and raised on the Wild West Side, this 3rd generation rancher will impress you with his knowledge of the land and the ecosystem. And it won't take you long to figure out that Gord is very passionate about conservation, whether it's bison, Woodland caribou, the forest, the prairie, or preserving the cowboy way of life. Oh, and he can cook too!

Sheila Vaadeland; Hostess
The real charm of Sturgeon River Ranch. Sheila is a touring musician with the Celtic band, Back of the Bus and with the Childrens group, Paul Runalls and the Prairie Sailors. And she is a great cook! Sheila makes sure that everyone who comes to Sturgeon River Ranch becomes part of the family.

Jake Vaadeland; Thinks He's Ranch Boss
Pictures don't lie. This one's trouble!! This kid will keep you on your toes. At 6 years old, he can storytell with the best of them. And he can ride! The energy never runs out.

Errol Vaadeland; Wrangler, Lazy SV Cattle Manager
Little brother! This full time rancher always seems to find the time to get out on the trail with our guests. Errol and his wife Angela live over at the Lazy SV Ranch, which is the cattle operation.

Laurel Vaadeland, Wrangler
Sister-in-law is a certified riding coach and a great asset to the team. Laurel also offers her own riding lessons at the Rafter V Ranch, right next door to Sturgeon River Ranch.

John Prosak; Wrangler
Johnny "Tornado" will keep you in stitches with his quick wit and storytelling. Never a dull moment with this boy! Spends as much time digging himself out of holes as he does falling into them! John's a great horseman and an all around fun cowboy.

Joanne Reimer; Wrangler,
Joanne is simply impressive to watch as she works with horses, people or whatever. She is generally making sure that everything is done and that everyone is taken care of. Joanne also works with Gord in bison conservation and tourism marketing.

Ruben Vaadeland; Teamster
Dad, or "Uncle Ben" as he's known around these parts has been driving horses since he was 5 years old. Born on the Wild West Side in 1933, he knows the history of this area. Always a favorite on the trail, he's always happy to share his humble wisdom and fun nature. Hangs his hat at the Lazy SV Ranch.
Richard Bintner; Wrangler
When he's not working for Nilson Brothers Livestock as their manager of their Western Canadian Bison herd (about 5000 head in total), Richard will happily guide you on the trails along the East Side of Prince Albert National Park. You will be amazed by the gentleness this cowboy shows to the horses and by the remarkable way they respond to him.

Darlene Vaadeland; Cook and Baker
Nobody does fresh bread and homemade jam better than Mom! No matter how short notice, there is always a huge spread on the table when she is done!
